Meet Sammy
Sammy is a petite, energetic girl estimated to be around 6–7 months old. Don’t let her small size fool you — Sammy has a big personality and an endless supply of puppy energy.
She loves to play, wrestle, chase balls, and follow her canine friends around. She especially adores her big puppy brother, James, and has even been known to sneak into his crate for a cozy nap. Sammy would love a home with another playful, dog-friendly companion.
Sammy is wonderful with people and other dogs. She enjoys going for walks and is always on high alert for squirrels and bunnies. She knows how to use a dog door, knows “sit,” and comes when called. She is currently working on “down,” “kennel up,” and polite leash walking.
Like many puppies, Sammy loves to chew, so durable, puppy-safe toys are a must. She is also a bit of an escape artist and loves to dig. She has managed to wiggle underneath a fence before, so her family will need to be diligent about securing the fence line and keeping an eye on this curious little girl.
Sammy’s story began along a busy road near a church in San Antonio. When help arrived, she didn’t hesitate — she jumped right into the car and refused to get back out. After apparently being on her own for some time, Sammy seemed to know exactly what she needed: someone to help her. And that is how she found her way to Rescue PAC.
Since coming into rescue, Sammy has been spayed, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and brought up to date on her vaccinations, with her booster series underway.
She is still working on overnight crate training, but she has already made wonderful progress. Sammy now happily eats her meals in her crate and will settle down for a nap there with the door open. She responds well to reassurance and even enjoys being sung to.
Sammy is a sweet, playful, energetic puppy who is looking for a family willing to provide the patience, structure, exercise, training, and love she needs to continue growing into the wonderful companion she is meant to be. She has so much personality and so much potential, and she is ready to find the people she can call her own.
Could Sammy P. be your newest family member?
