Jewel’s life matters. And we’re fighting for it.

When we pulled Jewel from the euthanasia list, she was minutes away from being put down. Her skin was inflamed and painful, and a large, ulcerated mass hung from her abdomen. We were told she was only 11 months old — we later learned she’s actually 5 years old. Five years of surviving in silence. Five years of being overlooked.

We took her in because no one else would. Because she was suffering, and she deserved more. Because behind her battered body, we saw a soul that still wanted to live.

Since intake, Jewel has been to two different vets. We’ve been told is a 50/50 chance of being breast cancer. Between the exams, diagnostics, and sedation, we’ve spent just over $1,000 so far — and her medical journey is only beginning.

We know the risks.

We also know her worth.

Every life we take in comes with a promise: we will do everything we can to give them a chance. And Jewel deserves that chance. If you feel moved by her story — if you’ve ever seen yourself in a rescue — we’re asking you to help us carry this financial burden. Any amount makes a difference.
