Meet Duke. 💛

Duke’s story started on the streets of the Rio Grande Valley, where he spent the first six months of his life as part of a pack of dogs simply trying to survive. For weeks, he and his family were overlooked, with local street feeders being their only real lifeline.

Then a foster said YES — and that yes changed everything for Duke. Rescue PAC was able to step in and give him the chance he deserved.

Duke is still learning what it means to be loved by people. Because he had little to no human contact during the first six months of his life, he can be unsure of people at first. He isn’t going to walk into a new home and immediately act like he’s known you forever — and we want to be completely honest about that.

But give this boy some time, patience, encouragement, and a whole lot of love, and you’ll get to watch him blossom. ❤️

Once Duke is comfortable, his puppy personality really starts to shine. He has BOUNDLESS puppy energy, loves playing with other dogs, and is also great with cats and kids. He’s kennel trained, potty trained, and a FAST learner. Positive reinforcement is definitely the way to this boy’s heart!

Duke is looking for an adult who understands that trust is something you build, not something you demand. Someone who will celebrate the little victories — the first tail wag, the first time he comes over for attention, the first time he realizes that his new person really is safe.

Duke may need a little extra patience at the beginning, but he has so much potential waiting underneath those puppy zoomies. And honestly? Watching a dog who once knew very little about people discover that humans can be kind is pretty darn special. 🐾

If you’re looking for an instant, perfectly confident dog, Duke probably isn’t your guy.

But if you’re looking for a goofy, energetic, smart pup whose heart you can slowly earn — Duke just might be your boy. 💛

*Adoption fees for all dogs are $250 and include all essential vaccines, heart worm treatment (if necessary), a microchip and spay/neuter.
