Meet Carlos (aka Chico) ❤️🐾
Carlos, who answers to both Carlos and Chico, is a little Chihuahua with big ears, an even bigger heart, and a whole lot of love to give.
For weeks, Carlos wandered the streets of a Buda neighborhood alone. Many people spotted him, but no one came forward to claim him. Thankfully, he was safely trapped and brought into rescue, bringing his days and nights of roaming to an end. What came next was a beautiful reminder of what a little patience and kindness can do.
When Carlos first arrived at his foster home, he was frightened and unsure about human touch. But in just three days, he began to realize that he was safe. That scared little boy has blossomed into a cuddly, playful lovebug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He has especially bonded with his male foster dad and has become his little Velcro dog!
Carlos is currently living with another dog and two young children, and he has embraced his new life with all his heart. He loves playing and snuggling with his foster brother and does well with the noise and activity that come with little kids. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate and loyal personality really shines.
He is still working on potty training and learning to walk on a leash, but he is making progress. For now, he is perfectly content enjoying backyard adventures and spending time indoors with his favorite people.
Carlos may be shy around new faces and can initially try to run away when meeting someone unfamiliar. He just needs a little time to learn that he is safe. Once that trust is there, you get to see the sweet, devoted little companion hiding beneath that nervous exterior.
Carlos is neutered, and we’ll be adding his remaining health information soon!
Now, this little neighborhood wanderer is ready for a family of his own. ❤️ If you’re looking for a small companion with a big personality who will happily become your little shadow, Carlos might just be your guy.
Could you be the safe place Carlos has been waiting for? 🏡🐾
