Name: Straviac

Breed: Shepherd Mix

Age: 2–3 years

Sex: Male

Meet Straviac, a resilient sweetheart who has already lived through more than any dog should. He spent at least a month wandering a subdivision on the east side of Buda alone, scared, hungry, and constantly on the move. Neighbors saw him slipping between businesses near I-35, avoiding people, and trying his best to survive. Even with all that fear, there was always a softness in his eyes that hinted he still hoped someone would help him.

With patience and teamwork from Rescue PAC volunteers and Tara with K9 Workingmind, Straviac was finally secured and brought to safety. And despite everything he’s endured, his soul is truly gentle. Once he realized he wasn’t in danger, he leaned into kindness like he’d been waiting for it.

His first vet visit revealed the reality of his time on the run. Straviac is heartworm positive, covered in flea irritation, and his X-rays showed two BB pellets — one in his chest and one near his shoulder. The good news is that he’s walking well and has no orthopedic issues. He’s now finally getting the medical care he’s needed for a long time.

Straviac will require ongoing vetting for his heartworm treatment, and he will need to be neutered before any adoption is finalized. Rescue PAC will cover all of these expenses to make sure he gets the fresh start he deserves.

This boy wants nothing more than a safe, steady home and someone who sees the best in him. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a soft heart and a powerful story of resilience, Straviac may be the dog who changes everything for you.

Every life we take in comes with a promise: we will do everything we can to give them a chance. And this boy deserves that chance. If you feel moved by his story — if you’ve ever seen yourself in a rescue — we’re asking for your help to support his care. Any amount truly makes a difference.
